📢 Exciting News: Rongo University Ranked Number 25 in Sub-Saharan Africa by Times Higher Education! 🎉

We are thrilled to announce that Rongo University has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing the 25th position in the prestigious Times Higher Education Sub-Saharan Africa University Rankings. This remarkable recognition highlights the significant impact our institution has made in addressing the toughest challenges faced in our region.

The Times Higher Education Sub-Saharan Africa University Rankings are a comprehensive assessment designed specifically to evaluate universities’ contributions in three crucial areas: teaching, research, and societal impact. These rankings employ carefully calibrated indicators, ensuring a balanced and comprehensive comparison across multiple dimensions.

One notable aspect of this year’s rankings is the inclusion of data from the first-ever sub-Saharan Africa student survey. More than 20,000 students shared their invaluable opinions, making this ranking an even more representative and inclusive assessment of universities’ performance.

It is important to note that the development of these rankings involved close collaboration with university leaders from across sub-Saharan Africa. This remarkable project was initiated by a consortium of African and international higher education organizations and companies, including Botho, Maverick, and Mycos. The project was led by Ashesi University in Ghana, in partnership with the esteemed Mastercard Foundation. Throughout the process, Times Higher Education independently managed all data collection and calculations, ensuring transparency and credibility.

In this inaugural edition, a total of 88 universities from 20 countries have been ranked. Additionally, 33 institutions have been recognized for their valuable data contributions, despite not meeting the eligibility criteria for receiving a rank. This extensive coverage of universities across the region further reinforces the comprehensive nature of these rankings.

We are immensely proud of this significant achievement, which reflects the dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment of our faculty, staff, and students. Rongo University’s consistent pursuit of excellence in teaching, groundbreaking research, and impactful societal engagement has undoubtedly contributed to this remarkable recognition.

We extend our gratitude to the Times Higher Education Sub-Saharan Africa University Rankings and all those involved in this comprehensive assessment for their invaluable efforts in promoting excellence and fostering healthy competition within our region’s higher education landscape.

This remarkable recognition strengthens our resolve to continue striving for excellence and to positively impact our community and beyond. Together, we will continue to push boundaries, inspire future generations, and contribute meaningfully to the development of our society.
