Under the UK-Kenya university partnership initiative, the British Council recently launched a visionary Learning and Design Lab, recognizing it as a cornerstone for fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among students and institutions. The partnership includes several esteemed institutions such as Rongo University, Nottingham University, Strathmore University, Imperial College of Science, Technology & Medicine, and Kenya College of Accounting.
Circle Innovation has been entrusted by the British Council to lead the implementation of the Learning and Design Labs program, aimed at creating a supportive environment for cross-border collaboration and industry engagement. Through this initiative, the British Council seeks to equip the next generation of leaders with the skills and resources necessary to tackle global challenges and drive sustainable development.
Monica Blagescu, Head of Education at the British Council, Kenya, emphasized the importance of empowering youth in addressing climate change, underscoring the role of collaborative partnerships in fostering sustainable solutions. The Learning and Design Labs contribute to improved student outcomes and promote internationalization of education, strengthening connections between Kenya and the UK.

The Learning and Design Lab, scheduled from 13th to 17th May 2024 in Nairobi, will bring together students from the University of Portsmouth and Rongo University. This collaborative effort signifies a commitment to creating a sustainable and prosperous future for generations to come.
