Through our recent collaboration with UNESCO that gave RU UNESCO Chair for four years, CMDPS is working with high school students in Migori County for peace building through:

  1. Comedy
  2. Talent shows (News writing and reporting)
  3. Training workshops for film production in collaboration with the Peace Maker Foundation Kenya.

Students compete to make a short video in a global competition called ” Global Peace in the Streets Festival” winner receive their prizes at the UN headquarters in New York

To transform traditional journalism in Africa for democratic advancement, peace and security

Aims and Objectives
1. To create awareness and interest in the field of peace journalism
2. Extend welfare services to the entire society through initiating and running activities that will alwsays promote inclusion, youth deradicalization and underscore the importance of peaceful coexistence
3. To encourage free minded intellects to serve the community without relying on rewards as well as promoting high ethical standards
4. To train and mentor a crop of journalists and communication experts that will be ambassadors of peace
5. To be a voice of reason and serve as mediators at all times
6. To motivate students to develop their individual skills and talents in their respective fields of study through available facilities in the university
