Theme: “A fusion of Computer Science geeks and Healthcare = 21st Century Health IT innovations”
Hackathon is Rongo University’s inaugural technical computer science gathering bringing together individual talents of the Schools of science technology and engineering and the industry’s best and brightest innovations through hands on problems brainstorming within limited space, live presentations in cohort discussions and hands-on demonstrations.

This event will take place from 15th – 17th June 2018 in the lower boardroom at Rongo University. Hackathons have specific focus, which include computer programming, various operating systems, applications, API reviews and coding, and industry expert guidance focusing on health information systems and related solutions.
A hackathon (also known as a hack day, hackfest or codefest) is a problem solving contest within limited time of 48hours in which computer programmers and others involved in software development, including subject matter experts, graphic designers, interface designers, project managers, and others, collaborate intensively work on software projects.
This event is in partnership with Ministry of health – County Government of Migori, University of Nairobi, School of Computing and Informatics- Health IT Project and Rongo University -School of science technology and engineering.
Projects will be assessed by a Team of Researchers from UoN, Rongo, HealthIT project team, and the Ministry of health.
